It was Ladies Day at Mill BC on Sunday 21st July when the sun shone and the club paid tribute to our much loved and much missed former treasurer Pauline Puttock.

The Pauline Puttock Memorial Trophy was a Ladies Triples Gala involving ten teams from local clubs. As well as being a mainstay of Mill BC for many, many years, Pauline was well known throughout the wider bowls community and it was lovely that seven clubs - Bessingby, Court Park, Eastcote, Harefield, Harlington, Ladygate, Ruislip - were able to join three Mill teams in an enjoyable day of bowls.

As a memento of the event, all players were given a dove pin donated by Lodge Brothers, Uxbridge, arranged by Mill member Sue O’Rourke.

Group games took place during the morning and early afternoon. During the lunch interval a moving personal tribute to Pauline from former club captain Tony Jones was read out.

Bessingby and Eastcote emerged as the two group winners and they contested the final. Eastcote emerged victorious and were presented with the beautiful cut glass trophy which had been donated by social secretary Sandra Foran.

Thanks to all of the visiting clubs for participating in this special day and thanks also to the Mill Committee and all the members who contributed to a well organised, fun and enjoyable day that was a great way to remember the lovely Pauline.
